TV in Japan

This isn't the MTV awards. Its show called SMAPxSMAP of a very famous & popular boys(now men) group named SMAP.

Michael Jackson is always loved & welcomed in Japan.

Definitely not Sapp. That was a very strange show- surprised don't work well on television.
It also shows what third-rate stars SMAP really are that they can't even speak in front of Michael.
 

I believe that they usually do a high-power style comedy/entertainment, (look at the war of the worlds katsugan-samba thing) but they were so awestruck and surprised that they completely froze. They would usually do fun stuff and make jokes, and humiliate/embarrass people a bit, but they just could do it, just goes to show how famous he really is in Japan. I don't consider sumasuma 3. rate, they are old, but they still provide some of the funniest parodies. Though they really should stop singing ^_^. Ps. did anyone watch the love awards? I loved the outtakes.
